What matters before the open

Meta's Muse logged more than 902,000 downloads in six days, U.S. diesel reached $6.527 a gallon, Liz Ann Sonders said market breadth was deteriorating, and Reuters reported Novo fell as much as 9% after its capital-markets day.

Main narratives

day change
01

Muse creates a measurable CPU-demand test

Bloomberg and Sensor Tower data showed Muse ranked No. 1 among free U.S. iOS and Google Play apps, with more than 902,000 downloads in six days. Separately, a TrendForce-linked post said some agent workloads may require four CPUs per GPU and could reach a much higher ratio. Downloads and cloud deployment ratios now provide specific tests for the demand claim.

02

Diesel stays at a record while crude falls

FirstSquawk reported WTI below $100 while U.S. diesel traded above $6.50. A later post put diesel at a record $6.527 versus $3.688 a year ago. LiveSquawk noted conflicting reports on whether Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline had restarted, and Fars-sourced reports denied a Hormuz reopening story. Product prices and confirmed export flows are the key measures from here.

03

Breadth weakens beneath the cap-weighted rally

Liz Ann Sonders said breadth continued to deteriorate after the rally. Goldman data relayed on X showed cap-weighted S&P beat equal-weight by about 130 basis points, a top-five daily spread in more than five years. A Reddit post separately counted 30 S&P 500 new lows against seven new highs. Bloomberg noted the earnings yield was close to the 10-year Treasury yield.

04

Novo guidance meets new Roche trial pressure

Novo's CEO discussed guidance that JPMorgan viewed as about 7% below consensus. In a separate Bloomberg segment, Roche reported its enicepatide obesity shot reduced body weight by 15.5% in a mid-stage trial and is moving to late-stage testing next year. Reuters then reported Novo shares fell as much as 9% after investors found its capital-markets plans underwhelming.

Themes of the session

?
Z-score shows how far this edition's mention count is above or below the theme's own average across 20 comparable earlier editions. +2.7σ means mentions are 2.7 standard deviations above that average — simply, the theme is being mentioned much more often than usual. It measures attention, not bullishness or expected return. Themes need at least 8 posts; gold begins at +2σ, and σ is hidden when history is too thin.
