Nvidia is turning packaging, substrate and optics into the next AI bottleneck.

Nvidia signed capacity agreements with Ibiden, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Unimicron for 2.5x substrate capacity, with Amkor expanding advanced packaging more than 300% by end-2028 and SPIL lifting co-packaged optical-engine capacity 15x by mid-2027. Korean reports say Samsung Electro-Mechanics received $830M from Tesla and $2B from Nvidia as prepayments. The constraint is shifting from wafers to physical packaging and optical interconnect.

02

Saudi attacks have made refined-product tightness the sharper oil trade.

Deadly Houthi-linked strikes on an eastern airport and an oil field pushed Brent above $110 and prompted US non-emergency diplomats to leave Saudi Arabia. Hal Kempfer says tanker flows through Hormuz have largely recovered via a southerly route along Oman, so the premium sits in war-risk insurance and refined products; Bank of America's Francisco Blanch flags a diesel crunch. Southwest cut guidance on jet fuel, showing the cost reaching consumers.

Meta's Muse turns AI agents into a distribution weapon against standalone software.

Meta said 10M US/Canada users set up Muse agents in six weeks, with 25% daily use, shopping the top use case and average purchases above $200. TheValueist sees negative implications for Adobe and HubSpot as Meta bundles creative and SMB workflow tools into a platform advertisers already use. All-In's IBM and Palo Alto CEOs expect enterprise tokens to shift to cheaper open-weight models and software to consolidate.

Themes of the session

?
Z-score shows how far this edition's mention count is above or below the theme's own average across 20 comparable earlier editions. +2.7σ means mentions are 2.7 standard deviations above that average — simply, the theme is being mentioned much more often than usual. It measures attention, not bullishness or expected return. Themes need at least 8 posts; gold begins at +2σ, and σ is hidden when history is too thin.
