What changed since midday

SpaceX beat Q3 revenue estimates and Musk said he would be surprised by under 13 GW of compute by end-2027; Anthropic's draft S-1 reportedly shows $16.3B of first-half revenue and up to $750B of compute plans; SemiAnalysis sees ~50 GW of 2027 data centers; Goldman puts Gulf refined exports near 40% of 2025.

Main narratives

day change
01

SpaceX reported Q3 revenue of $14.58 billion against a $12.87 billion estimate, and Musk said he would be surprised by less than 13 GW of compute by end-2027

AI revenue was $7.56 billion against a $6.3 billion estimate. On the call, Musk said he was fairly confident of adding 10 GW of compute in 2027 on top of roughly 2.5 to 3 GW online by end-2026, and that new compute deployments generate a payback of less than a year at current pricing. Ren noted 35 launches against 41 expected and cash of $51 billion against a $91 billion estimate.

02

Anthropic's draft S-1 reportedly shows $16.3 billion of first-half revenue and signals up to $750 billion of compute spending

Per the WSJ, the draft prospectus shows first-half revenue of $16.3 billion, up from $1.1 billion, and a net loss of more than $80 billion, about $72 billion of it tied to an accounting adjustment on financing agreements. Around one-fifth of revenue came from two customers. @firstadopter compared the $750 billion compute signal with $518 billion in a prior draft reported by Reuters.

03

SemiAnalysis now argues 2027 AI data-center capacity is heading toward roughly 50 GW, against a ~25 GW consensus

In an episode titled 'Brad Gerstner Cut Our 2027 Forecast in Half. We Raised It.', SemiAnalysis's data-center team moved above its prior 43 GW estimate, citing building-level construction tracking, leasing signals and supplier indicators. The team argues moratorium and grid concerns affect only a subset of projects. Separately, Ren relayed a Nomura note seeing AI data-center power rising from 10 GW in 2025 to 40 GW by 2028.

04

Goldman Sachs says Persian Gulf exports of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel are around 40% of their 2025 average

Goldman analysts wrote that the drop partly reflects continued Mideast refinery outages, while crude exports held near 2025 averages last week. Their base case has Brent falling to $90 by end-2026, but Brent could average about $125 in 2027 if Gulf output holds 5m b/d below February 2026 levels. Airlines for America's Chris Sununu said carriers are absorbing much of higher jet-fuel costs, with Europe more exposed to imported refined products.

Themes of the session

?
Z-score shows how far this edition's mention count is above or below the theme's own average across 20 comparable earlier editions. +2.7σ means mentions are 2.7 standard deviations above that average — simply, the theme is being mentioned much more often than usual. It measures attention, not bullishness or expected return. Themes need at least 8 posts; gold begins at +2σ, and σ is hidden when history is too thin.

Hyperscalers versus neoclouds

Chairman's Ledger argued the credit squeeze lands on leveraged neoclouds rather than MSFT, GOOG and AMZN, which fund capex from operating cash flow, and said 'Meta tomorrow is the test.'
