Business Insider reported an AWS infrastructure executive expects Amazon to stay free-cash-flow negative for the next couple of years

Per Business Insider, Kalyanaraman of AWS Infrastructure expects Amazon to remain free-cash-flow negative for "the next couple of years or so," and some AWS sites had room for racks but not enough power to turn them on. One August email projected about $5 billion of Nvidia GB300 rack deliveries that month, then roughly $3 billion a month. Separately, Morgan Stanley raised its AWS growth forecasts to 47% for 2027 and 42% for 2028.

Citgo reportedly raised its 2026 EBITDA outlook to $7.7-8.0 billion from $5.8 billion on surging fuel margins

Per an investor document reported by Bloomberg, Citgo lifted its full-year 2026 EBITDA outlook to $7.7-8.0 billion from the $5.8 billion it set in August, on surging fuel margins. TheValueist calculated that nine-month EBITDA of $4.5-4.8 billion implies a fourth quarter of $2.9-3.5 billion, 1.8 to 2.3 times the average of the first nine months, and called it extremely bullish for PADD 3 refiners given Citgo's footprint.

03

TrendForce projects a 180 million fiber-kilometer global optical fiber shortfall in 2026

TrendForce figures posted by P Equity Research show a 2026 shortfall of 180 million fiber-kilometers, capacity utilization at 92% and inventory down to one month from four in 2024, with some suppliers booked into the first quarter of 2027. TrendForce projects spot prices for finished fiber at 2.8 to 5 times 2025 levels or higher and the shortage lasting through 2028; data centers account for about 18-20% of demand.

04

South Korea's finance minister said a stabilization fund or a temporary short-selling ban could be used if stock volatility increases

Finance minister Lee Hyoung-il said Korea is preparing market stabilization measures and will decide on steps such as activating the stock market stabilization fund or temporarily banning short selling based on market conditions. The KOSPI fell about 4.3% in Asian trading, per a premarket note from @degentradinglsd. Separately, Jukan argued a strike at Micron should be good news for Samsung and SK hynix but likely bad news for Micron.
