day change
01

Celestica guided 2027 revenue to $40.0 billion, up 90%, after beating Q3

Celestica reported Q3 revenue of $5.83 billion, up 83% year over year, and adjusted EPS of $3.30, both above the high end of guidance, per @CKCapitalxx's recap. It raised 2026 revenue guidance to $21.0 billion and issued an initial 2027 outlook of $40.0 billion, up 90%, with $21.50 of adjusted EPS. Its free-cash-flow outlook was lowered to $460 million on working capital for the 2027 ramp.

02

Banks and Blackstone formed a $63 billion vehicle to buy Broadcom AI chips for Anthropic

Bank of America, Blackstone, Citi and Morgan Stanley announced a $63 billion transaction through a newly formed special purpose vehicle with committed financing to buy Broadcom XPU AI accelerators and networking for Anthropic, per the press release posted by @TheValueist; deliveries are expected to start in calendar 2027. Separately, S&P Global's Mark Habib said hyperscalers' leased data-center capacity and chip purchase commitments can sit outside reported liabilities.

03

Microsoft offered voluntary buyouts to roughly 60,000 staff as it retools its workforce for AI

Microsoft is offering voluntary exit packages to roughly 60,000 staff, per CNBC, and Bloomberg said it is retooling its workforce for AI. @FinnStockinger wrote that the reported offer covers over 25% of the workforce and is meant to free up cash for AI infrastructure spending. @jiahanjimliu called it Oracle's playbook of cutting headcount to raise free cash flow and borrowing against it to buy GPUs, and argued wider substitution would mean lower inflation and rates.

04

Gavin Baker argues Anthropic's revenue and margins can rise as token prices fall

Gavin Baker argued that revenue per GPU can rise as token prices decline if per-GPU token throughput rises enough, so Anthropic's revenue and margins can both increase if GPU prices rise less than the product of the token-price decline and the throughput increase. He pointed to more performant GB300s and inference optimizations, starting from 90% inference gross margins. @frankdegods countered that models have never been more commoditized, which compresses margins.
