Micron's guide matters more than the beat as HBM tightness peaks into earnings

TrendForce sees HBM ASPs up 121% next year; Micron says its HBM is fully booked through 2027 and Sandisk guided its fiscal Q1 to 83-85% gross margin. Bulls model a Micron beat above consensus; bears warn 6.8x FY27 EPS can mark a cyclical peak, and a 14-week quarter versus 13 next quarter plus multi-year capped contracts could make guidance look soft.

02

Nvidia's inference moat widens as Google's TPU supplier mix shifts

SemiAnalysis says OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast runs on Nvidia GPUs at low batch size rather than Cerebras, reinforcing Nvidia's inference position and weakening the case for wafer-scale differentiation. Analysts also see MediaTek taking the full v9 TPU generation, with the v9 parts on 100% EMIB-T packaging and Broadcom's v7e socket the pivotal share test, while Serenity flags Amazon's ownership and warrant positions across AI hardware suppliers.

03

Crude flows normalized, but diesel and jet fuel remain the real energy squeeze

JPMorgan puts Hormuz flows near 98% of prewar levels and Goldman shows Gulf crude exports at 108% of the 2025 average, while diesel and jet fuel exports remain near half and diesel prices are up 74-77% year over year. Russia extended its diesel export ban through October, Canada is planning for a possible US ban, and the November-December Brent roll threatens a headline break below $100.

MediaTek: TPU v9 share-win thesis

pequityresearch flags MediaTek for 100% projected v9 TPU share across training and inference SKUs, with v9 on 100% EMIB-T packaging and small-volume substrate deliveries targeted for mid-2027; the same thread rebuts v8t delay and v9 share-loss fears after a 7% drop.

Intel: packaging second-source for Google TPUs

Aaron Wei argues constrained CoWoS capacity and Google's wish to reduce TSMC dependence make Intel's panel-level packaging a credible alternative, potentially scaling to about 2.5M TPU units by 2028 and giving Intel an estimated 10-15% share of advanced 2.5D packaging, contingent on 18A/14A yields.

Credo: cheapest AI networking name

michaelsikand argues CRDO trades at 26.4x forward P/E versus COHR 31x, LITE 44.7x, MRVL 48.2x and ALAB 63.8x, with the AEC market growing at a 49% CAGR through 2030 and optics potentially a third of sales by 2028; babyfolio calls it underrated.

Long-duration Treasuries: wait for data

Cramer sees a bond short squeeze if weak data continues and oil falls; RBC prefers the front end and belly and avoids the long end. The next core PCE print and 30-year auction decide whether this is a tactical reversal or a term-premium repricing.

Meta Muse: monetization proof needed

Meta's Muse has distribution reach, and management is weighing fee-on-savings or subscriptions, but delegated-task frequency and transaction-model unit economics remain undisclosed. TheValueist notes merchants can block automated access and that always-on VM agents are increasingly commoditized, so the economic moat is unproven.

China property: wait for October

China's official PMIs returned above 50 and the private services gauge hit a three-month high, but the mortgage subsidy is capped and narrow, property names sold off, and private investment remains down 10%. A sustained property transaction and credit recovery in October would change the cautious stance.

Cerebras: OpenAI speed-tier loss

SemiAnalysis says OpenAI's Ultrafast tier now runs on Nvidia GPUs despite Cerebras's prior role, and Cerebras shares face a lockup expiry. Bulls argue coding agents remain a latency niche, but serving disclosure is the immediate risk.

Long-end duration: supply and term-premium risk

The 30-year yield is at a 24-year high, strategists float 6%, the BoE warns AI valuations could spill into sovereign bonds, and Goldman estimates 98th-percentile pension equity selling with CTAs flipping to sellers in a falling tape.

Crude beta: watch distillate, not headline crude

Goldman sees the global oil market roughly balanced with Gulf crude exports at 108% of 2025 levels, Libya's Sharara has returned near 340,000 b/d, and OPEC+ is expected to hold quotas; the tightness is in diesel and jet fuel, not crude.
