Marvell lifted its FY28 revenue outlook to about $20 billion, and Ciena rose 10% on the read-through

Bloomberg, as posted by TheValueist, reports Marvell expects about $20 billion of FY28 revenue, about 67% growth, versus the roughly $18 billion it guided in August and analysts' $18.2 billion, sending the shares up as much as 11%. Gaetano says the extra $2 billion comes from optics and switching, with FY31 revenue framed at $70-90 billion. Michael Sikand says Ciena rose 10% because Marvell attributed the raise to connectivity, including 1.6T DSPs.

02

Penguin Solutions beat estimates and raised its FY27 revenue guide to about $2.43 billion

CK Capital reports Penguin's Q4 revenue of $566.7 million against about $520 million expected, up 68%, and non-GAAP EPS of $1.00 against $0.77, with FY27 revenue guided to about $2.43 billion from a preliminary $2.17 billion. Finn Stockinger notes six new AI infrastructure customers in Q4, four of them neoclouds, but flags that inventory rose 50% to $749 million while operating cash flow was negative $163 million.

03

Memory stocks fell on a record day, and Bernstein sees conventional DRAM prices peaking in Q3 2027

PhotonBull notes SanDisk, Micron and SK Hynix were all red while neoclouds and photonics led, and pequityresearch relays Bernstein's view that conventional DRAM average selling prices peak in Q3 2027 before coming down steadily. Minnvestor asks whether price floors in new memory deals are a last-ditch cash grab, citing Micron contracts through 2030 with a floor that guarantees gross margins above its old 61% peak. almacap114204 relays that Samsung will triple HBM prices.

04

The S&P 500 closed at its first record since Aug. 13, but most stocks are still lagging

Liz Ann Sonders notes the S&P 500's first record close since August 13, its 28th this year, and FirstSquawk reports the index rose 0.6% as Nvidia's market value neared $6 trillion. Schuldensuehner notes the index is up 15.2% this year against 12% for the equal-weight index, and that two-thirds of its stocks have fallen further since the mid-September low. Jordi Visser expects an equal-weight MACD crossover that he calls the best SPX buy signal since 2016, with the SPX up 22 of 22 times over the following six months.
