What changed since premarket

Oil's relief move lacks physical confirmation; AI credit still clears while equity earnings quality weakens; yen defense can leak into Treasury duration; and data-center approvals increasingly require self-funded power. Fresh disclosed trades include FCEL, SMH and small tactical SOL/HYPE exposure.

Main narratives

day change
01

The oil relief trade outran physical confirmation

Oil sold off on claimed US-Iran talks, but the physical and diplomatic evidence diverges. Bloomberg's Stuart Livingstone-Wallace said Hormuz traffic remained a trickle and global inventories were 400–600 million barrels below late-February levels. Later, an Iranian foreign-ministry statement relayed on X denied current US negotiations and described only Oman talks on safe shipping passage.

02

Credit capacity is intact; equity earnings quality is not the same thing

Pimco sees AI infrastructure financing in its early innings and high-single-digit yields in carefully structured deals; a contributor argues signed cloud backlog dwarfs this year's borrowing. The counterweight is equity quality: CNBC calculated S&P earnings growth nearer 29% after stripping private-AI marks, while Gary Cohn warned that former cash machines are becoming asset builders and new AI debt competes with Treasury supply.

03

Yen defense can move the pressure into Treasury duration

Cameron Crise sees stronger-yen potential from BOJ action and domestic-bond repatriation, with a possible loss of Japanese Treasury demand. Damped Spring offers the key dissent: Japan already has repo, swap-line and reserve liquidity, so FIMA emphasis may be theatre rather than evidence of forced Treasury sales. Cohn's 60bp 2s10s steepening and AI-debt supply keep the long end exposed either way.

04

Bring-your-own-power is becoming the project filter

Brookfield CEO Bruce Flatt called self-supplied power the social license for large campuses. A Texas order relayed on X demands verification of power, water and financing before interconnection amid 474 GW of requests. Below the mega-campus tier, Daniel Koss argues 30–100 MW sites are underserved by FCEL and discloses a long; Babyfolio separately opened a position. The demand and sellout claims are not independently confirmed bookings.

Themes of the session

?
Z-score shows how far this edition's mention count is above or below the theme's own average across 20 comparable earlier editions. +2.7σ means mentions are 2.7 standard deviations above that average — simply, the theme is being mentioned much more often than usual. It measures attention, not bullishness or expected return. Themes need at least 8 posts; gold begins at +2σ, and σ is hidden when history is too thin.
