Rotate from growth to value stocks.
A historic rotation from growth to value is accelerating as sticky inflation and the prospect of a higher inflation target force pension funds globally to shift allocations. Money fleeing the Mag 7 is pouring into value stocks. This is a secular move that benefits Russell 1000 Value over Russell 1000 Growth.

Chris Galipeau Head Market Strategist, Franklin Templeton The David Lin Report
Small/midcaps lead broadening on earnings.
The US stock market is broadening beyond mega-caps as earnings power spreads. Stocks follow earnings, and the broadening play has been in place since early 2025. With new all-time highs in equal-weight S&P, midcaps, Russell 2000, and Russell 1000 value, the trend remains intact.

Rotation into value stocks expected.
Value has underperformed growth for five years at extreme levels, and a multi-year rotation into value is likely as money rotates out of overvalued growth stocks. Value stocks should outperform.

"Value stocks tend to be the best-positioned area. Energy stocks tend to do well... And small caps overall have tended to fare better than large caps in stagflationary environments." In a stagflationary environment driven by a supply shock, mega-cap growth stocks suffer from multiple compression due to higher discount rates. Conversely, value and energy sectors benefit directly from higher commodity prices, and small caps historically show resilience during these specific macro setups. LONG value, energy, and small-cap equities as capital rotates out of expensive, crowded mega-cap tech stocks. A severe economic recession crushes small-cap earnings, or the Fed is forced to hike rates, which disproportionately hurts debt-heavy small companies.
