Summary

The hosts discuss why they are bullish on crypto, highlighting Bitcoin's relative strength, mainstream adoption, and the potential for a US strategic Bitcoin reserve. They debate the Circle IPO and stablecoin economics, favor Tether's ecosystem and Plasma's XPL token, and compare Robinhood, Hyperliquid, Syrup, and Solana. The conversation also warns about overtrading, altcoin underperformance, and eventual corrections in crypto-related equities.

  • Bitcoin is framed as a multi-year outperformer versus major funds and equity indices.
  • Circle's IPO is seen as overvalued with weak margins and Tether dominance.
  • Stablecoin market share trends favor USDT, with Plasma/XPL as a speculative stablecoin network bet.
  • Robinhood is viewed bullishly for crypto user growth and wallet expansion.
  • Hyperliquid and Syrup are highlighted as favored altcoin/application trades.
  • Solana is viewed more cautiously due to app-chain value capture and no switching costs.
  • Crypto equity hype stocks like Coinbase and MSTR may face eventual corrections.
  • The hosts caution against overtrading and generally poor long-term altcoin returns.
Ideas

Bitcoin outperforms all major funds for years
Bitcoin will outperform every major equity index, hedge fund, VC fund, and PE fund over the next 5-10 years. Adoption is already mainstream, underinvestment from newly convinced investors has not yet flowed in, and potential US strategic Bitcoin reserve accumulation is the most bullish possible development. Most people will fumble the opportunity through underexposure, overexposure, panic selling, or holding the wrong altcoin instead of Bitcoin.

Hyperliquid and Syrup are tenbaggers
A real way to get rich in crypto is to find underappreciated 10-baggers rather than overtrading. Hyperliquid at $12-15 could be a 10-bagger, and Syrup still looks like a reasonable 10-bagger. After huge outperformance, profits should be rolled back into Bitcoin.

Bought Hyperliquid and Syrup as winners
Jonah says the smartest recent thing he did was buy Hyperliquid, and he also bought some Syrup, probably not enough. He favors these over Robinhood and Solana, and later calls Hyperliquid the NASDAQ of crypto while Syrup is better still.

Altcoins generally underperform and are trash
Generally altcoins are trash and do not make money long term. The new market environment rewards things that make money; rather than flipping every altcoin, pick specific assets and sit in them. Only select underappreciated 10-baggers are worth owning.

Circle is overvalued and poor business
Circle is a poor business with around 1% EBITDA margins because it pays most profits to Coinbase and market makers to promote USDC, which is not sticky. Tether dominates stablecoins with organic growth and is professionalizing, while rate cuts will slash Circle's interest income. The stock is overvalued after its IPO pop and even if it 10xes, he would not touch it.

Crypto equities face eventual correction
Avi expects a large market correction in crypto-equity hype stocks at some point, specifically Coinbase and MSTR-playbook companies. For now the appetite is still there, but these valuations are likely to correct.

Robinhood benefits from crypto volume growth
Avi is still very bullish and owns Robinhood because it is aggressively expanding crypto coin offerings, improving its wallet, and integrating crypto into a one-stop app. It can capture crypto trading volume from a large Gen Z user base, and if crypto grows, it can scale revenues and profits even at a high P/E.

Plasma could become stablecoin payment network
Plasma is a dedicated stablecoin network with a close Tether relationship. If it becomes the network for stablecoin payments, it could capture fees and appeal to traditional institutions that may want a payment network without all competitors on it. Jonah invested as an experiment and sees it as a good experiment that fits a low-FTV, real-use-case framework.

Solana faces app-chain value capture risk
Solana feels riskier because large applications like Pump.fun may launch their own chains to capture value, and there are no switching costs. This is similar to how L2s eventually cannibalized ETH; it may take years, but Hyperliquid is now the NASDAQ of crypto, not Solana.

Solana will underperform other crypto assets
Avi hasn't owned Solana in a long time, still owns some, but does not think it will perform best from now on and would much rather have assets elsewhere. He is watching the HYPE/SOL pair closely as a relative expression.
