Summary

The episode discusses the bifurcation between tradfi and crypto markets amid the Iran-Israel conflict, arguing the oil market is efficiently pricing geopolitical risk and that the conflict is likely a fade. The hosts debate crypto market structure, Bitcoin consolidation, altcoin weakness, and froth in Circle's IPO and crypto treasury-shell listings. They outline trades including shorting oil and altcoins, buying Bitcoin on liquidations, and pair trades long Coinbase or Bitcoin against short Circle.

  • Geopolitical conflict seen as a fade; Brent oil likely lower.
  • Oil viewed as leading indicator for crypto; falling oil supports Bitcoin.
  • Bitcoin expected to consolidate; buy liquidation dips, short altcoins and ETH/BTC.
  • Circle's valuation and high option premiums attract short/call-selling and pair trades.
  • Crypto treasury shell listings offer day-one flip opportunities but are predatory.
  • Coinbase and Bitcoin favored versus Circle; HYPE and Bitcoin seen as consensus golden bags.

Fade Iran risk, short Brent oil.
The Iran-Israel conflict is a screaming fade because the only real oil risk is Iran shutting the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran cannot do and does not want to do. Shutting it would unite adversaries, hurt China and Iran's friends more than the US, and any attempt would be met by overwhelming allied defensive firepower and a rapid kinetic response. Oil has rallied on geopolitical fear, but the market is topping and should continue lower, with Brent the right global waterborne benchmark to watch rather than WTI.

Worldcoin remains a great short.
Worldcoin was a great short at 120; it went to 140, which you would have had to endure, but now at 82 it remains a great short as the broader alt exuberance phase ends and Bitcoin consolidates sideways.

Short ETH/BTC back to lows.
Bitcoin consolidation periods encourage exuberance in ETH and other alts, but those rallies tend to fail. ETH/BTC has bounced off lows and is a good short with a stop about 8% above the 0.024 level and a target around 0.19; he believes it is going back to the lows as the alt complex struggles without a BTC catalyst.

Short altcoins during Bitcoin consolidation.
Bitcoin likely ranges between 102K and 110K, potentially pulling back to 92K, and needs a catalyst to go higher. During these consolidation periods, money flows into shitcoins, Ethereum, and Worldcoin-type assets, but those periods of exuberance end and the alt complex is in trouble; this is a great time to short shitcoins and look for accumulation zones in favored assets.

Higher stocks after geopolitical de-escalation.
He expects a rapid finale to the geopolitical episode, with lower commodity prices, more economic certainty, and higher stocks as the risk premium fades.

Buy Bitcoin on liquidation days.
Bitcoin is likely to consolidate and may pull back, but during these digestion periods the assets that are not actually good come down a lot; he likes buying Bitcoin on days with liquidations, like yesterday, while shorting alts and possibly ETH/BTC.

Long Coinbase, short frothy Circle.
Circle is massively overvalued and frothy, trading at a market cap around or above USDC despite earning minimal EBITDA and being essentially a funding arbitrage. Coinbase is a real crypto business with custody, an exchange, an L2, and close to $1B EBITDA, and is the biggest recipient of Circle money. Buy Coinbase and short Circle notional-neutral to be long a real crypto company versus a hyperinflated one, while avoiding the danger of being outright short Circle if crypto rips.

Flip new crypto treasury listings.
There is strong demand for publicly listed crypto treasury shell companies, including a proposed Nasdaq shell to buy BNB, because retail and institutions lack access to assets like BNB. The structure is predatory and likely ends in tears, but for an average crypto investor the money has been in buying these new listings on day one and flipping them on day two; keep doing it for the next 3-5 months until it stops working rather than screening token launches.

Own Bitcoin and Hyperliquid.
The next three-month playbook is simpler and better in Bitcoin and Hyperliquid; HYPE has been trading Teflon and is a golden bag alongside Bitcoin. Although the trade is consensus, he still likes Hyperliquid and thinks the odds are much better there than in treasury companies or altcoins, with only a small portfolio allocation to speculative treasury-company flips.
