jez, who posts as @izebel_eth under the display name "jez (equity perps era)," is a crypto perpetual-futures trader, builder and angel investor. Only his first name is public: no surname is disclosed, and the employer behind the VC job he refers to is not named. The account dates to December 2016 and has about 61,000 followers. He has said that posting and a small Discord got him that VC job in 2022. In May 2026 he and @blurr announced PaperTrade (papertrade.xyz), billed as "a fair-launched, fully-onchain perpetuals exchange built on hyperliquid" with 1000x leverage, zero slippage, no funding costs and a self-bootstrapping LP; he says he devised the mechanism more than two years earlier and waited for Hyperliquid precompiles to catch up, and the design — a "martingaler LP" funded by losing traders' margin, minting the PAPER token — is credited to a whitepaper he wrote. It was announced as "coming soon" and he was still describing it as unfinished in September 2026. On sizing he is deliberately concentrated: "all your money in single best idea is absolutely the best way to aggressively grow your portfolio (as long as your right)" — a method he says he used four-plus times to come back from blow-ups, though he adds that he is now "more focused on consistency than aggression." He also angel invests, thanking "the founders ive backed" and "my angel partners @will__price and @blurr," and is associated with a quant account, Casca (@cascaintern), whose own bio describes it as his quant operation "run by @tradinghoex" and which he lists as his inbound channel. His main thesis since late 2025 has been equity perpetuals — exposure to onchain venues listing perps on stocks rather than to tokenised equities ("i also hate wrapped/tokenized stocks, this is a perps game"). He writes essays at oldcoinbad.com ("assorted Extremely Online ramblings," 4,000+ subscribers) and credits picking up poker in 2024 with tightening his trading discipline.
