How to account for recent spike in CAPX of tech companies when performing a DCF valuation?

A DCF valuation is mostly centered around the FCF (and future FCF) of the company in question. Looking at recent cash flow statements of the major tech companies, their CAPX is spiking majorly because of heavy investments into AI infrastructure. GOOG(L) as an example: Over the last 2 years, cash from operating activities has gone up from 101B to 164B. Capital expenditures has gone up from 32B to 91B. Meaning in total, free cash flow has gone from 69B to 73B. A very subtle increase, while the apparent profits form the operating activities has gone up by 62%. Now.. correct me if I'm wrong, but GOOG (and many other tech companies) are not yet making any significant money from these AI investments. The majority of their operating cash flow comes from their "regular" business, and would be approximately the same even without their giant CAPX spending. The CAPX spending is an investment into a future they are imagining, where AI will generate them even more growth. So over the next years, one of two things will happen: (1) AI turns out to be a good investment, company operating cash flows increase to a point above the current/projected CAPX. Profit. (2) AI turns out to be a bad investment. GOOG stops investing in AI, their CAPX returns to the "normal" level of 30-40B. The current operating cash flow of 162B is still prevalent (or continues to grow), because the operations it is based on are not relying on AI success. My point is: The current level of operating cash flow is not relying directly on the current (inflated) levels of capital expenditure. The current CAPX should be seen more as an "experiment", that can either be succesful or canceled. So how fair is it to let the raw FCF represent the profitability of GOOG? Over night, they could decide to cancel their AI CAPX spending, and their FCF would appear to spike upwards, even if the profitability of their main operations didn't change. I'm using GOOG as an example, but this can be copied over to many tech companies.
