Bought ETH on treasury and technicals
Avi initially hated ETH but turned bullish around an ETH/BTC ratio of 0.03 because ETH treasury companies were buying heavily, technicals improved, and there was no leverage in the system. He bought ETH on the podcast, was up 20% since, and remains long ETH with leverage as it starts to look like a reflexive upside trade.
Rotated back to ETH for double/triple
Jonah rotated all his ETH into Bitcoin when ETH/BTC was around 0.055, then rotated back into ETH at 0.03 and is up 20%. He thinks ETH could double or triple from here, though he would rotate back to Bitcoin if ETH market cap breaches $1 trillion because ETH would need stratospheric expectations while Bitcoin still has room.
Bought HYPE after 65% selloff
Jonah bear-posted Hyperliquid when it traded near $35, then bought after a podcast at $12 when the price had sold off about 65% but the story was unchanged. He uses it as an example of buying a reflexive asset after a large drawdown when the underlying narrative remains intact.
Bitcoin has more room than ETH
Jonah would rotate back into Bitcoin for a trade if ETH market cap breaches $1 trillion. He believes Bitcoin still has quite a ways to go, helped by continued adoption and institutional access, whereas ETH at that valuation would require far more extreme societal expectations.
Ethena reflexive yield flywheel drives token
Avi highlights Ethena because USDe supply went from $5 billion to $10 billion in a month and the token price tracks that growth. As ETH rallies, ETH basis rises, derivatives leverage increases, USDe yields rise, capital flows in, and the Ethena token benefits from a reflexive flywheel. He includes a small Ethena allocation in his portfolio.
Aave TVL growth precedes token rally
Avi is getting bullish on Aave because its TVL exploded from $25 billion on June 26 to $38 billion without a substantial token run yet. In what he sees as an institutional crypto cycle, Aave is a prime destination for Wall Street capital as access improves, so he plans to buy the breakout.
Ripple included in institutional crypto portfolio
Avi wants a portfolio of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple for the next few months, with perhaps a little Ethena, positioning in liquid names where institutional capital is likely to flow during this cycle. The Ripple thesis is mostly as part of this institutional-flow basket rather than a standalone deep fundamental call.
Bitcoin flows continue toward 150K
Avi expects Bitcoin to continue attracting flows because it is now in 401ks and IRAs and almost everyone who wants access can buy it. Even in a broad crypto collapse, he thinks Bitcoin might only draw down 25-35% and then keep trucking higher, with his gut saying it goes straight to $150K.
1000x token included in portfolio
Avi includes the 1000x token in his portfolio for the next few months, calling it an obvious shameless shill. The thesis is weak and promotional, but it is an explicit portfolio inclusion.
ETH rally sparks ETH-related alt season
Avi expects an ETH alt season. As ETH bounces off the lows of a brutal bear cycle, ETH basis rises, participants seek leverage through derivatives, Ethena captures the yield, capital flows in, and ETH-related altcoins full send in a reflexive flywheel.
Aerodrome tokenomics and Base flow win
Avi loves Aerodrome and thinks it will flip Uniswap. He argues Aerodrome has better tokenomics with buybacks, fee sharing with stakers, locked team tokens, and no VC dump overhang, and the team is paid only if the product generates emissions and utility. It broke its downtrend, narrative momentum is building, and he plans to buy the breakout as a potential 3-5 bagger.
Uniswap tokenomics and VC overhang bad
Avi is bearish on Uniswap relative to Aerodrome. He says Uniswap has inferior tokenomics, less useful product for LPs, and large VC and insider bags from Paradigm, a16z, and Hayden Adams that can be sold into rallies. He does not see how Uniswap defends its position unless it changes tokenomics and VCs finish selling.
Aerodrome dominates Base liquidity and flow
Jonah is bullish Aerodrome because it broke its downtrend, dominates Base liquidity, and benefits from Coinbase's Onchain integration funneling users and flow into Base DEXs. He also likes the tokenomics: locked team tokens, no VC dump overhang, and a better structure than Uniswap. He views it as a momentum trade with 3-5x potential.
Coinbase Onchain integration boosts Base
Jonah views Coinbase's Onchain integration as a major structural unlock for Base. It lets Coinbase's roughly 100 million users interact with Base through a familiar interface, routing more flow into Base DEXs and potentially prediction markets, FX, and other onchain/offchain financial applications. He sees this as broadly bullish for the Base ecosystem.
Memecoin communities fracture; avoid as durable
Avi does not buy the memecoin thesis that attention and community are enough to sustain value. He argues memecoin communities consistently fracture over time, and the only exception is Dogecoin, which survives largely because Elon Musk adopted it. He therefore treats memecoins as a gambling vehicle to avoid as a durable investment.
Dogecoin depends on Musk patronage
Avi says Dogecoin only exists in its current form because the richest man in the world took it under his wing. Without that Musk patronage, he thinks Dogecoin would likely be about 90% lower, making it a fragile memecoin rather than a durable asset.
ETH NFTs benefit from ETH risk appetite
Avi says as long as ETH treasury companies keep buying, the weird and speculative parts of crypto, including NFTs, keep rallying. He prefers ETH-based NFTs and personally likes Fidenzas, CryptoPunks, Ether Rock, and Autoglyphs, while seeing other-chain NFT markets like Solana as much weaker.
Solana activity lags ETH and Base
Avi says Solana feels like a ghost town right now, especially in the NFT market, while all the activity and speculative energy is concentrated in ETH and Base-related assets.
Cannabis reclassification could lift weed ETF
Avi flags a speculative cannabis reclassification trade. If Trump reclassifies marijuana, it would be extremely good for the weed complex. The Roundhill Cannabis ETF is already up 52% over the last month and could go much higher on approval, while Polymarket prices only a 38% chance of weed rescheduling in 2025, offering a possible two-bagger punt.
