Copper supply crisis drives steady gains.
Copper is his favorite metal. A structural supply deficit exists: the world needs six new Tier 1 copper mines per year through 2050 just for normal growth, yet very few are coming online. Chile's output is constrained by social issues and declining ore grades. Copper has climbed in a steady, methodical way with higher highs and higher lows, making it a superior long-term holding. He would rather own copper stocks than any technology stock.

Copper top 2026 pick on supply.
Copper is his top pick for 2026 because supply is deeply constrained by permitting and major mine accidents at Grasberg, Kamoa-Kakula and others that can take years to fix; demand is essential and supported by electrification and hybrids even if AI cools, and it lacks uranium's nuclear-accident risk. He also has copper stocks on his shopping list because they are relatively cheap.

Copper, oil, gas undervalued versus gold
Other commodities—copper, natural gas and oil—screen even more undervalued relative to gold than gold miners; copper is near highs but selected copper stocks are still fundamentally undervalued versus gold, and oil and gas are especially inexpensive after being painful to own.

Lobo Tiggre Founder, The Independent Speculator The David Lin Report
Copper supply deficit plus inflation is bullish.
Copper is Dr. Copper and essential to economic activity, and unlike oil it is not in a supply glut. Lobo cites mainstream projections of a widening copper supply gap because not enough new copper is coming online, and he says an inflationary backdrop plus a supply shortfall makes copper look like a no-brainer. He really likes copper and plans to buy more copper stocks, potentially around the same time he piles back into silver.

Copper stocks are cheap.
Copper stocks are attractive within commodity equities because they are cheap.
