One shot to put $7k into Roth before I lose eligibility. Where should it go?
**TLDR: $7k to invest in my Roth IRA (probably my last contribution due to income limits). Already have VOO and international exposure with 401k + FXAIX. Deciding between QQQ or VT for the rest. Thoughts?**
Hey folks – I'm looking for some advice on where to invest about $7k that I recently rolled over into my Roth IRA. I'm pretty novice and simple when it comes to investing so looking to keep it easy.
I recently mixed up my strategy trying to rebalance things. Long story short, I invest in VOO in my brokerage account and used to invest in FTIHX in my Roth IRA. I've stopped contributing to it for this year since I've maxed out my partial contribution limit.
But since I just rolled over this money I want to take a step back and think about how I invest it. I’m thinking FTIHX may not be the move anymore – I may have over rotated on the international front when I also consider the split of my 401k as well which is a target date fund with about a 50:50 international/domestic split.
All that to say, now that I have this $7k to place, I want to choose another domestic fund (or at least domestic-forward one) instead and one that isn't too duplicative of the VOO I already have.
Considering QQQ or VT at the moment. But open to thoughts! Keep in mind this is probably a one and done dump, since next year I likely won't be able to contribute to my Roth IRA again due to income limits unless I do a backdoor Roth.
