Hi there. Long time reader/lurker, first time poster. Finally.
So, shortish story - I inherited an EJ account worth about $500k when my mom died, which has 2 IRAs, one Roth, and 2 individual accounts. You don't even want to know what the fees are for this. (2024 was nearly $7,000, and that's just their fees, not any fund fees).
Obviously, I need get these moved. BUT - EJ has made such a mess out of it, and investments are seemingly everywhere, that moving it on my own to self-invest is going to be a cleanup beyond my abilities. I have thought of going to Schwab/Fidelity and paying for an advisor, having them do the cleanup over time, and then removing the guidance eventually. Does anyone have any better advice that going that route to at least get me out of EJ and sorted out? Thanks, and appreciate all the good advice everyone posts.
