Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on simplifying my ETF portfolio.
Currently, I invest monthly in:
* **Vanguard FTSE All-World (Acc)**
* **iShares S&P 500 Information Technology (Acc)**
The S&P 500 IT ETF has clearly outperformed in recent years, which is why I added it. However, I know that **Vanguard FTSE All-World already includes all the big US tech companies**, just at market-cap weights.
So my dilemma is:
* Does it make sense to **keep investing in both** (intentionally overweighting US tech)?
* Or is it more sensible long-term to **stick only with Vanguard FTSE All-World** for simplicity and diversification?
I’m investing long term (10–20+ years) and I’m comfortable with volatility, but I also want to avoid unnecessary complexity or overlap.
I’d really appreciate hearing how others think about:
* Overweighting tech vs market-cap weighting
* Core-satellite vs single-ETF strategies
* Whether past tech outperformance is a good reason to keep the sector ETF
Thanks in advance!
