Hey everyone,
I’m a 35-year-old Canadian investor looking for some feedback on whether I’m set up well for the long term.
I work in construction and things are extremely slow right now, so I’m not contributing much at the moment — but once work picks up again, I plan to resume regular investing and stick to a long-term buy-and-hold strategy.
Here’s my current portfolio breakdown:
VTI (US Total Market ETF) — ~38%
XUS (CAD S&P 500 ETF) — ~36%
SPYM (Dividend ETF) — ~21%
LAC (Lithium stock – speculative) — ~5%
My goal is long-term growth with some stability. I’m not trying to trade — just steady investing over time.
Does this look reasonably diversified for my age and goals?
Would you simplify it or rebalance anything?
Appreciate any advice or perspective.
