Middle East chokepoint disruptions threaten oil supply
Disruptions to Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, which carries about 4 million barrels per day to the Red Sea, and the Houthis' growing ability to threaten the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are significant oil-supply risks. Iran also retains substantial leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, though that leverage may fade as countries and companies build resilience. Weaker regional powers can use chokepoint disruption to gain leverage, keeping Middle East oil-supply risk elevated.

Defense industrial base demand supported by funding
The Pentagon has acquisition reform and contracts in place and has created long-term demand signals, but needs Congress to approve the $1.5 trillion budget request to rebuild the defense industrial base. It has secured seven-year munitions deals, incentivized $25 billion of industry investment, and is ramping Patriot production capacity and other critical munitions, which supports defense industrial base demand.
