Major producers must buy copper projects.
Major copper producers have already consolidated and need new growth, but there are very few large copper projects left. Only about six big copper mines were built in the last decade while the world needs 24 projects of BHP scale over the next decade, so producers must increasingly acquire development-stage copper projects, creating scarcity value for large, near-surface deposits.

Advanced copper projects face future supply need.
Major miners are consolidating rather than developing new projects, so there will be a future need for advanced, highly developed copper projects. Companies that de-risk and advance large copper deposits can be acquired or funded when supply scarcity becomes urgent.
