[+25] u/LanceX2: I cant believe Obama would do this to us
[+17] u/jrex035: Was wondering why diesel and gasoline prices suddenly plummeted, of course its a Trump tweet with him claiming that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to stop targeting each other's energy infrastructure.
As we all know Trump is a very reliable source so surely this must be true.
Side note it doesn't matter in the short term anyway, Russian energy infrastructure is fucked and itll take months to bring much of it back online even if attacks (which took place as recently as last night) do actually stop
[+16] u/InvestigatorPlus3229: who could have known my best investment would be a mortgage circa 2021
[+15] u/fire_alarmist: TRUMP: COUNTRIES OF WORLD SHOULD AND WILL REIMBURSE US WHEN HORMUZ STRAIT CONFLAGRATION OVER
Literal financial terrorist administration
[+12] u/jrex035: Early in the Hormuz crisis, Trump's tweets about Iran begging for a deal, or the war ending soon, or prices coming down any day now were enough for an instant 15% drop in crude prices. As recently as July and August these tweets were enough to drop prices 5+% in a matter of minutes.
Today Trump flooded the zone with at least 4 posts about Iran begging for a deal (which they denied immediately), about Ukraine and Russia agreeing not to target energy infrastructure (false too of course), and claiming that the war will be over soon and energy prices will fall dramatically.
And yet, the impact on oil, gasoline, and diesel prices has been minimal (~3%) and already appears to be reversing course.
Why? Because the market is waking up to the severity of the crisis. There is no immiment peace deal on the horizon. No secret Pakistani negotiators about to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Trump isn't about to walk away and declare victory. Instead, global inventories are low and draining alarmingly fast, damage to global oil and refining infrastructure happening on a daily basis, the Houthis control the entire Red Sea coastline, the Iranians launch attacks on US convoys through the strait daily and land hits on tankers almost every day, the list goes on and on.
Things are bad and getting worse every day, and there's no end in sight.
[+11] u/Prudent-Corgi3793: After a week of dry humping 5%, the US10Y finally busted
[+11] u/LtUnsolicitedAdvice: Cybersecurity valuations are insane.
[+11] u/Hopeful-Climate-3848: They spent all that money to suppress the ten year and seven hours later it's basically back where it started.
[+10] u/Hoof_Hearted12: This isn't the bloodbath I was promised
[+10] u/nikodamn: AI talk is smokescreen. It's all about rate hikes and always has been.
[+10] u/dansdansy: Anyone biting on 5% yield 10 year? No? My mother in law is heading into a nursing home so these yields are a huge blessing. For my port and budget? Not a welcome sight at all. CRWD doesn't seem to care much though so that's nice to see.
[+10] u/creemeeseason: Everyone likes to cite the polls showing people dislike data centers due to water or noise or whatever else they say. I think the real reason is people (not all inclusive, but a sizeable amount) just don't like AI.
[+9] u/empiredude: And the 5% US10Y has returned!
[+8] u/InvestigatorPlus3229: Cloudflare yay ath coming
[+7] u/Dry_Raisin2660: 10 year breaking through 5%
[+7] u/InvestigatorPlus3229: Honestly bonds should be 10%
[+7] u/fakemedicines: Bought 6 shares of meta at 666.66
[+7] u/Dry_Raisin2660: Bullish for software
[+7] u/jnas_19: My heart sank when I saw the Steam Frame price and all the excluded accessories holy shit. Gen 3 chip with 256GBs going for $1059 gtfoh
[+7] u/Sufficient_Habit5091: It's weird when 10Y first hit 5% 3 years back it felt like such a big deal.
Now it feels like it's normal and just where it should be.
[+7] u/PlayfulPresentation7: I cant believe the market is taking seriously these claims from the AI CEOs that their product is too good. Even Trump pushed back on the comments.
[+7] u/InvestigatorPlus3229: is bill ackman a good investor
[+6] u/jrex035: The amount of manipulation being thrown at the market today is genuinely wild, they've managed to push the 10y down from 5.011% to 4.939% in a matter of hours, all while Trump keeps spamming whatever bullish posts he can to get algos to do the dirty work for him trying to contain energy prices and pump AI-related equities.
Indices now a hairsbreadth from flipping positive, Dow already green.
Idk about you, but this is NOT a bullish sign for me this smells of extreme desperation
[+5] u/MitchCurry: >Costco has raised the price of motor oil sold under its exclusive private-label brand as well as limited how much of it customers can buy weekly as oil prices climb yet again.
...
>
Costco's Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil 5-quart two pack now costs around $58, well above the approximately $30 it had been selling for just last year. Costco is also only allowing customers to purchase two boxes a week.
[+5] u/Maga1498: Just in: President Trump announces Iran has called him BEGGING for a deal, and he will now consider whether or not to open discussions.
[+5] u/WordsHappenedHere: Seeing tons of big money straddles in options sweeps. 50-100 million in total premium between the two legs. Saw a ton of this today on SPY NVDA and other names.
Big money has no clue either where this market is going but they know it’s going to move big one way.
[+5] u/InvestigatorPlus3229: wen butlerian jihad?
