Just got access to custodial account and need advice on how to manage it
I’m 21, know nothing about stocks and I just got access to a custodial account from my late grandmother. The account has 21 shares of Warner bros and a little over 110 shares of AT&T with reinvest dividends on. My understanding is that Warner bros is in some sort of legal battle and if it goes through I’ll be bought out at 31 a share so I’ve been debating whether or not I should sell before the buyout. My questions are 1 what should I consider reinvesting with the money I get from Warner bros? Ideally I want to invest in something that I can use in 5-10 years instead of for when I’m retired but I’d also be ok with more long term if that’s a safer bet. 2 when should I sell AT&T? It’s not like I need the money now and I’m fine letting it sit and building dividends but realistically when should I ever consider selling it? Since I’ve gotten the account I’ve been trying to research but overall I’m still pretty clueless so I’ve just completely left alone the custodial account. What would u guys do if u were 21 and just got access to these 2 stocks. Any advice, tips on how to manage my current investments or recommendations on what to invest in the future would be greatly appreciated.
