$1.8M → $10M. How would you actually do it without blowing up the account?
I’m sitting at roughly $1.8M right now and my long-term goal is to get it to $10M+. Over the last year I’ve only actively invested around $100k into 2–3 long-term positions and I’m up roughly $150k from investing.
The majority of the money is still sitting in a HYSA because I’ve been pretty conservative and don’t want to blow up what I already have, but obviously I’m not getting from $1.8M to $10M anytime soon by leaving most of it in cash.
For anyone here who has actually gone from around $1M–$2M to $5M–$10M+, what did you actually do?
Was it concentrated stocks, index funds and time, a business, one or two huge winners, or simply continuing to earn a lot and adding to the portfolio?
If you had $1.8M today and wanted to get to $10M without taking a stupid amount of risk, what would your strategy be and how long would you realistically expect it to take?
