"In 2024 and 2025, the world’s largest cannabis company, Curaleaf, disclosed two loans involving Tangela Holdings, a Cyprus-based company with deep ties to Curaleaf CEO Boris Jordan, totaling about $9 million.
These loans pale in comparison to the deals Tangela made behind the scenes.
Tangela acquired a large block of Curaleaf shares from companies controlled by Jordan, then used the Curaleaf shares to raise hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign counterparties, and lent money directly to Curaleaf and companies in Jordan’s business network."
