This is [Prof. Patrick Boyle](https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrickboyle?utm_source=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=member_ios) and he eloquently explains here why the [US’ recent moves in aiding Japan in their losing battle with their unsustainable currency controls](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/currencies/articles/us-sold-euros-save-yen-033819315.html) is so hilariously bad.
TLDR: the Yen is not and has not been looking in terms of its value relative to other modern “1st world nations” and The US has now decided in a bizarre twist to go against almost 70 years of precedent and began aiding Japan with their again obviously losing battle with their currency. And if that wasn’t bad enough the Americans did not even do it with their own money, instead they went behind the backs of their so called “Allies” in Europe and started selling Euros and Francs at an eye watering level on August 5th.
Market ideas: Full Disclosure this not Financial Advice but personally I’m currently building shorts the size of small car loans for the Yen pairings in Euro markets and I plan on using those gains to take out a mortgage level of loan (ideally shy north of $400k) and then take out a short against the Dollar that I will probably use to feed my family for generations. As there is clearly no option but for the government to inflate the debt problem away and that will just bankrupt the purchasing power of the dollar but since the elites already have accumulated so much they have proven that in such times they can ultimately just accrue a ton of that excess *dollars* for themselves.
PS: imho (I have some econ degrees but nothing serious lol) I think we are headed into a future like the one in the movie ***In Time*** with JT where the richest persons simply lived walled off from the rest of society and the world at large with unimaginable fortunes that were digital (much like how The US government does like 80% of modern day money printing via digits on a computer)
