Someone bet $80,000 into $CAR 4/24 calls with a $800 strike yesterday right at market opening. Those calls are worth nearly $100 a pop now.
I know there was a short squeeze because two hedge funds control with float essentially trapping the shorts but betting on a nearly 30% OTM move with <4DTE is crazy.
I tailed it with way smaller size but sold way to early. What seems to work is looking for and tailing trades with <5DTE, 5%-10% OTM, and over $25k premium.
Not sure when this short squeeze is stopping but maybe buying longer dated puts could be the move.
