Fed held rates steady today and I’m trying to figure out how much of that is just inflation data vs broader uncertainty.
Inflation hasn’t fully come down yet, but at the same time oil has been creeping up again and there’s a lot of geopolitical tension right now.
Feels like even if inflation is slowly improving, higher energy prices could keep pressure on things and make the Fed more cautious than expected.
Do you guys think this is more of a ‘wait for clearer data’ pause, or are we actually in a higher-for-longer situation again?
