* A federal judge blocked subpoenas issued by a grand jury to the Federal Reserve as part of a criminal investigation of Chair Jerome Powell.
* The Department of Justice will appeal what U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro called an “outrageous” ruling by Judge James Boasberg.
* Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., has vowed to block Kevin Warsh’s confirmation to succeed Powell until the probe ends.
* That may mean interest rates remain higher that President Donald Trump wants as Powell has resisted Trump’s pressure to cut rates more sharply.
