This article frames AI agents as purely destructive to business models built on friction. But friction cuts both ways. The same force that kills bad businesses could be a genuine tailwind for good ones.
A huge amount of corporate success has nothing to do with product quality and everything to do with distribution moats: being on the right shelf, having the biggest ad budget, exploiting the cognitive exhaustion of a shopper who has already made 200 micro decisions today.
If (and it's a big IF) your agent is genuinely working for you, suddenly the small companies with superior products but no marketing budget get surfaced. (inb4: SEO people will turn into prompt injector/data poisoning specialists to pump their products)
