I know this may not be a popular position, because the stock market has gone up so much over the last few years, but I just sold all my stocks on Friday, and now want to take a defensive position. Come Tuesday when the sells settle, I'll put them into a money market account.
What money market tickets do you like for parking cash, and what are some other defensive plays, for someone deeply concerned about Trump wrecking things.
I plan to retire this year, and just sold a little over $5 million in stocks (split between regular brokage account and IRA). I'll get a modest pension plus social security.
Also, I want to move someplace warm, where English is spoken, and am uncertain if the US still makes sense, unless we go back to normal after Trump.
