Hello friends!
I am looking at creating a 529 for my Autistic son. Normally, I would not advertise his diagnosis like that, but I think it plays a pretty big part in this. My little guy is extremely intelligent, but we are currently struggling in a traditional school setting. Needless to say, his mother and I do not know what the future holds and I want to make sure he is setup in the future.
I know these funds can be moved to another beneficiary or it can be used to learn a trade. I know the possibilities are pretty vast and it is really finding an option that works best for our situation. So my question has to do with our options with a 529, should we go age based or static? What is the difference? I read what Schwab had to say about them, but that made me more confused.
My brother gave my two kids $200 a piece and he plans on putting $200 in their accounts every December. I plan on putting $20 to $50 a month, depending on the month. Not sure if this information helps any, but I could use some help with this whole situation. Anything would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for being such an awesome community. I am learning a lot!
Cheers!!! 🍺🍻🥂
