Hi everyone,
I’ve been investing for a few years, but recently I had the uncomfortable realization that I might not actually understand what I’m doing.
I’m hoping someone here can help clarify a few ETF basics. I’ve tried Googling and even asking ChatGPT, but after too many “Sorry, you're right. Let me reformulate”, I lost faith.
* **1 -** I use justetf.com to compare ETFs. Let's say both ETFs, blue and orange, track the S&P500. Does justetf.com display the returns after all taxes/TER have been applied? Like if you invested 100 EUR in both ETFs at the same time, this is EXACTLY what you would have gained after 5 years? If that is the case, why should I care about TER or trying to read a KID? After 5 years, the blue ETF had +11% returns over the orange one, from my point of view, I couldn't care less if the blue one had a TER of 1% and the orange of 0.03%. What am I missing here?

* **2 -** Can someone explain, like I’m 5, how EUR-hedged ETFs differ from unhedged ones? Why do EUR-hedged ETFs show higher returns while tracking the same underlying stocks? And what happens if the EUR depreciates against the USD?
* **3 -** I'm from Poland and I use xTB to buy ETFs. Why should I care if I invest in an ETF that has ISIN IE, FR, LU, or DE?
* **4 -** From a European perspective, how could Trump’s proposed “Big Beautiful Bill” impact investments or ETFs?
I appreciate your help and have a happy new year!
