I want to start fresh on my investing, and I like the Boglehead strategies. My issue is I have the bulk of my investable money in taxable accounts (I didn’t take retirement contributions seriously enough early in my career).
I would like to deploy a simple 3 or 4 position portfolio: US equities, foreign equities, bonds/FI, and gold.
Here’s what I have available, need advice as to which ticket symbols to place in which accounts:
Taxable Brokerage Acct: $2m
Roth IRA (no contributions): $17k
IRA #1 (no ongoing contributions): $125k
IRA #2 ($2k/month contributions): $240k
Gold (physical/taxable): $500k
So like $2.38m investable plus $500k in bullion which I want to keep on the sidelines.
If I was to buy VTI, VXUS, and BND, for example, which accounts should each position be purchased in? For the best tax outcomes and so forth and so on?
Thank you all!
