I have a taxable account with a 650% unrealized gain, fully focused on tech. I would like to diversify now, since I was a total newbie when I started investing a decade ago. I had no idea what I was doing and simply picked random tech stocks (all blue chips). I got lucky, I guess.
However, if I sell the stocks now, I would end up paying an enormous amount in taxes, which I want to avoid.
So what are my options?
Should I keep contributing only to index-based funds like the S&P 500 or other ETFs going forward and hope that, over time, this will reduce the tech concentration?
Are there any other ways to diversify without triggering a taxable event?
Any tips and advices are greatly appreciated !
