Good morning. I am looking to invest in ETFs this year but I have questions regarding overlap with my current TSP fund contributions. Ive been active in the TSP since it became available, depositing 15 percent as well as their match at I think 5 percent. I don't really pay any attention to it. All of my contributions have been equally distributed in the I Fund, S Fund, and C Fund.
My understanding is that the I Fund is international stock markets. The S fund is S&P 500 stocks, and the C Fund is Commodities. What can I do to minimize overlap with ETF investing? Should I worry about overlap? Is there something else I should be looking into.
I have a little cash on hand to start, and I will be able to deposit monthly depending on what else is going on with life. I have had stocks in the past, but sold everything in January, moving it to a High Yield Savings Account where it has been since.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you and Happy New Year!!!!
