Summary

Chris Vermeulen discusses the recent tech-led selloff, arguing it is a short-term shakeout within an ongoing uptrend that could resolve into a year-end rally. He remains bullish on precious metals, especially gold, silver, and platinum, and sees a major long-term equity cycle top/reset risk in 2026. He is bearish on Bitcoin, expecting a break lower toward $67,000, and is skeptical of pairing or hedging trades.

  • December selloff is viewed as a normal shakeout, not a trend change.
  • Seasonality supports a potential year-end rally to all-time highs.
  • Precious metals are favored as the safe play with strong 2026 upside.
  • Gold leads, while silver and platinum are higher-beta catch-up plays.
  • Samuel Benner cycle warns of a major equity top/reset starting in 2026.
  • Bitcoin's downtrend and potential support break point toward lower prices.
  • Fed rate cuts/QE are noted but not used to alter trading decisions.
  • The guest prefers following price trends over hedging or pair trades.

Silver and platinum offer leveraged upside.
Gold usually leads major precious-metals trends, then silver catches up. Silver is the favored high-beta play because it is a much smaller market, moves faster, and attracts traders seeking leverage; he sees another 40-50% or more upside, and in a stock-crash rotation silver and platinum could rally 50-60%.

Silver likely sees few more down days.
After a 4-5% one-day drop, silver often sees a 3-4 day window of continued selling as different layers of investors react on different timeframes. The current move looks like an exhaustion pattern with silver closing below prior lows, so he expects a few more days of downward price before stabilization; this is tactical and does not change his longer-term bullish silver view.

Bitcoin downtrend points to lower prices.
Bitcoin's trend is clearly down after a topping phase, with lower highs and lower lows, and the setup looks ready to break lower. A conservative Fibonacci extension targets around $67,000, which would likely spark panic selling if support breaks. He would not be long here, sees rallies as bounces within a downtrend, thinks Bitcoin has lost its digital-gold luster for now, and says to steer clear; he tracks regular-hours psychology through the IBIT ETF and thinks Bitcoin might become exciting again later in 2026.
