Nvidia is reportedly developing "Nemo Claw," an open-source enterprise AI agent platform, and is actively pitching it to major tech firms like Salesforce, Cisco, and Google.
The strategy marks a massive shift from Nvidia's 20-year closed CUDA ecosystem to an open-source model, mirroring Microsoft's highly successful cross-platform pivot under Satya Nadella.
By open-sourcing the agent platform to run on any chip, Nvidia aims to accelerate global AI agent adoption, betting that increased overall compute demand will disproportionately benefit its industry-leading hardware.
The move is also defensive; by moving up the software stack, Nvidia aims to maintain dominance as competitors like AMD, Amazon, Google, and Broadcom develop custom AI silicon to break Nvidia's hardware lock-in.
