Ideas
Don't predict top; hold Korean stocks.
The Korean market is in a strong bull market and is not at the peak. Investors should not predict the top in a rising market; abundant global liquidity, expansionary fiscal policy, money blocked from real estate flowing into equities, and strong semiconductor earnings with waiting cash mean stocks are supported on dips. Existing holders should stay invested and only sell after a clear trend reversal, not because prices look high.
Watch Micron/SanDisk for sell signal.
The key sell signal for the Korean market is a trend reversal or earnings slowdown in U.S. semiconductor leaders, especially Micron Technology and SanDisk. Recently these stocks have led Nvidia due to DRAM price surges; if they roll over or their earnings growth decelerates versus market expectations, it will signal a semiconductor cycle downturn and investors should sell Korean equities/semiconductors.
Hold Korean semis until earnings slow.
Semiconductors are one of the market's center sectors, with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix as key Korean leaders. Samsung's Q4 operating profit was 20T and foreign estimates project 2026 operating profit of 150T; as long as Q1/Q2 earnings growth continues to accelerate and U.S. semiconductor leaders do not reverse, investors should hold. If Samsung's earnings growth decelerates or U.S. semis turn down, sell.
Buy SpaceX-related Korean stocks.
SpaceX-related aerospace stocks are one of the market's center sectors. They rotate within the leading group; after resting last Friday, they surged again, showing money continues to rotate into this theme. In a bull market, investors should focus on leading sectors like this rather than neglected stocks.
Buy Korean AI robot value chain.
AI robot related stocks are a center sector. Hyundai Motor Group's Atlas-related robot stocks are surging, and new component supply deals, such as a supplier to Rainbow Robotics, are creating fresh investable names. Investors should focus on this theme, especially new stocks with concrete contracts, rather than only Samsung/Hynix.
Buy nuclear leader Doosan Enerbility.
Nuclear power stocks are among the market leaders that are re-igniting. Doosan Enerbility has rebounded about 10,000 won from the 74,000-75,000 range, with small caps following. However, after the initial sector-wide rally, only the biggest beneficiaries tend to keep rising, so investors should selectively buy leading names like Doosan Enerbility rather than chase overextended small caps.
Buy corrected Korean shipbuilding leaders.
Shipbuilding stocks are re-igniting. Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Systems surged, and HJ Heavy Industries rose about 20% from its bottom. But because some have already surged, investors should look at charts and focus on leading mid/large caps with institutional/foreign buying after corrections rather than chasing the steepest movers.
Avoid Korean battery sector trend.
The recent rally in Korean secondary battery stocks is not a new cycle or rotation; it is only a technical bounce after a sharp decline. Structurally, the industry cannot expect the fanfare of two to three years ago: large contracts have been canceled, Korea's battery market share is falling, OEMs are using cheaper Chinese LFP batteries, and Korean supply is delayed on price. Only some individual stocks with news may spike, but continuity is unlikely; investors should not expect the sector trend to revive.
Prefer TQQQ and SOXL for US.
U.S. individual stocks are difficult and many investors are losing money, so for new exposure he prefers ETFs. He mainly uses TQQQ and the 3x semiconductor leveraged ETF SOXL, and says new entrants to U.S. stocks may find ETFs more convenient.
