MSCI exclusion risk creates Strategy event setup.
MSCI may remove Strategy from its index. If removed, Reuters estimates about $9B of selling pressure on MSTR, and because MSTR trades as a leveraged Bitcoin proxy, that can also pressure BTC. Prediction markets price roughly an 80% removal probability, so Kim thinks much is already discounted. If Strategy is unexpectedly retained, MSTR and Bitcoin could rally; if removed, downside may be limited unless broader crypto weakness follows.
Bitcoin to reach $160K by year-end 2026.
Kim expects Bitcoin to finish 2026 around $160,000. He sees US-related assets as one liquidity pool, and after CME margin hikes forced gold and silver deleveraging, capital can rotate into Bitcoin. He also expects US midterm-election incentives to favor crypto because candidates and crypto companies need each other, while equities are harder to prop up. Near term, ETF outflows, weak derivatives open interest, SFR liquidity stress, potential MSCI exclusion of Strategy, and tariff-court uncertainty may keep January-February volatile.
Stablecoin adoption will accelerate globally.
Kim expects stablecoin adoption to accelerate faster than the market assumes. Stablecoin market cap has already grown about 50% to over $300B, and Treasury Secretary Bessent has cited up to $2T by 2028. Demand comes from crypto trading and margin, payments, and reserve purchases of US T-bills. China’s shift to an interest-bearing CBDC may open the door to interest-bearing digital dollars, while US law restricts stablecoin yield; BlackRock and other financial firms are entering, raising both legitimacy and fraud risk.
Stablecoins support long-term US Treasuries.
Stablecoin reserves are held in short-term Treasuries and are unlikely to be sold unless stablecoins are burned, creating automatic rollover demand. As stablecoin market cap grows toward $2T, this can absorb over $1T of Treasury supply and let Bessent reduce long-term issuance. Lower long-end supply would reduce selling pressure, lift long-bond prices, and stabilize long-term yields.
Korean medical tourism offers unique leverage.
Kim argues Korea’s unique leverage is not only semiconductors or shipbuilding but healthcare and medical tourism. Foreign patients can come to Korea, pay in won or won stablecoins, and spend heavily, while AI and bio industries grow together. He points to Sinsa-dong clinics with hotel-like rooms and long-stay foreign patients as evidence the model is already emerging.
Prediction markets are a promising global sector.
Prediction markets are a globally growing crypto sector. Global exchanges offer event contracts on elections and other outcomes, and media references to prediction-market odds during Trump’s 2024 campaign increased their influence. Kim calls the sector very promising, although Korea has regulatory and gambling issues to resolve.
Crypto payment cards are promising.
Kim sees crypto-linked payment cards as a very promising sector. These cards connect digital-asset wallets to card networks, allowing holders to spend stablecoins or crypto directly. Demand should be strong from cross-border traders and foreign-income earners who want funds outside the domestic banking system and from users seeking tax efficiency or evasion. This becomes a practical bridge from crypto wallets to everyday payments.
Tokenized equities/RWA is a promising sector.
Tokenized real-world assets, especially tokenized equities, are a promising 2026 sector. Robinhood introduced tokenized stocks and its shares performed well. Tokens can mirror public equities inside crypto venues and may be treated more like crypto for tax purposes, creating a tax advantage versus ordinary stock gains. However, they are not real shares and carry fraud or mirroring risks.
