Consider US biotech and Japanese semis.
If investors feel they missed KOSPI and semiconductor gains, they can consider other assets that have delivered comparable or better returns: US biotech and Japanese semiconductors. US biotech also had the smallest recent six-month drawdown among the compared assets, though its five-year MDD has been around 45%.

John Crowley CEO, Biotechnology Innovation Organization CNBC
China biotech rises as US lags.
China's biotech industry has grown rapidly because China streamlined its drug development regulatory process, making it cheaper and faster to develop treatments and attracting capital away from US innovation hubs like Boston and San Francisco. Crowley says China now has over 4,000 true R&D biotech companies, up from a couple hundred a decade ago, and they are increasingly high-tech and doing things better and faster. He views this as one of the biggest threats to the US biotech industry, arguing the US needs a modernized, efficient FDA and a unique regulatory environment for rare diseases to outcompete China.
