Lee Nam-woo (이남우), known in English as Namuh Rhee, has been chairman of the Korean Corporate Governance Forum since January 2024 and is a visiting professor at Yonsei University's Graduate School of International Studies. The forum, a non-profit founded in 2019, campaigns for better governance at Korean conglomerates. He began his career at Daewoo Securities in 1988 and moved to foreign brokers in 1992, becoming a vice-president and analyst covering Korea, Japan and Taiwan at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong. He was later the first head of Samsung Securities' research centre, launched a hedge fund for foreign investors with seed capital from Man Group in 2003, was co-head of Merrill Lynch in Seoul from 2005 to 2007 and then headed Asia-Pacific client management for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Singapore until 2011. He ended his securities career at Nomura in 2016 as head of Asia client management. He studied international economics at Seoul National University and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He wrote the investing book 좋은 주식 나쁜 주식 (Good Stocks, Bad Stocks, 2021) and appears on 3PRO TV's Global Interview segment discussing US and Korean stocks.
