Alex Thorn is Head of Firmwide Research at Galaxy, the digital-asset financial services firm, where he leads the team that publishes its research on bitcoin and digital-asset markets. Galaxy announced his appointment in February 2021, hiring him from Fidelity Investments, where he spent over a decade — latterly as an investor at Avon Ventures, the bitcoin and blockchain venture fund affiliated with Fidelity's parent company, and before that as Director of Blockchain Research at the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology. Almost all of his tracked commentary is about bitcoin, including on-chain supply analysis and the quantum-computing debate.
