Everyone is focused on the chart. I'm focused on the short interest.
SPCE has three things working in its favor right now:
* Return to flight operations.
* Space sector momentum driven by the SpaceX IPO excitement.
* Roughly **22.7 million shares sold short.**

The stock keeps moving higher, yet more than **20% of the float remains short**.
Eventually, those shares have to be bought back.
Just a few weeks ago, SPCE was trading around **$2.50-$3.00**. Now the stock has more than doubled while short interest has remained elevated. In fact, reported short interest actually increased as the stock was moving higher.
I'm not saying every short seller is going to cover tomorrow.
But I am saying the math is changing.
