China is reducing gasoline and diesel consumption into negative territory via public policy, a stalled population and reduced driving, and it is refining less and exporting less product. Combined with Iranian crude going into reserves rather than consumption, China has done a lot to keep the oil market balanced, and this demand-side restraint is likely to continue.
