AI Summary
Summary
Main themes: Saudi East-West pipeline damage cutting several million bpd of crude supply, pushing oil/energy and tanker-shipping focus; Fed expected to hike next week with CPI/inflation in focus; broad market tail risk and market-vs-economy disconnect dominate anxiety.
Dominant sentiment: MIXED—bullish on oil/energy disruption plays, cautious/confused on broad equities, with some contrarian bullish bets that a Fed hike is already priced in.
Notable consensus/disagreements: Consensus that pipeline damage is bullish oil and SPCX looks absurdly valued; disagreement on whether a Fed hike causes a moon rally or a drawdown, and whether SPY drawdown happens now or later.
Earnings: None explicitly discussed in the thread.

[+19] u/WordsHappenedHere: I hate that you have no choice but to constantly hold tail risk in this Trump market. It’s near impossible to just pick stocks when you are one tweet away from -3% SPY.
[+18] u/jrex035: Ok here we go, CNN finally reporting on the East-West pipeline damage.
https://www.cnn.com/2026/09/11/politics/saudi-arabian-oil-pipeline-hit-by-projectiles-triggering-fires
One pumping station completely obliterated, another shows a fire burning in satellite imagery.
Unclear how long the pipeline will be down for, but this is a bfd. That's several million bdp of crude supply offline. And there's little reason to think the Houthis can't/won't do this again
[+17] u/klyphw: It's hard to look around and see how much disconnect there is from the market versus what you see around you economically. Like if the market just tanked everyone will be like 'Oh yeah, that makes sense. Should have seen that coming.'
[+12] u/toonguy84: https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/11/saudi-arabia-shut-down-east-west-crude-oil-pipeline.html
Update: The Middle East disaster continues to be a disaster.
[+11] u/Far-Refrigerator9889: FED will raise next week and markets will moon 5% I bet.
[+10] u/WordsHappenedHere: How will Fat Nixon react to rate hikes next week? Going to start threatening to “cut off all global trade” again?
[+10] u/WordsHappenedHere: Way too many people are positioned for a draw down so no way it’s happening in September. Put to call ratios are 3 and 4 to 1 for SPY through 9/18.
They’ll run it sideways. That 5 or 10% draw down everyone expects (and wants so they can buy) will come when no one in retail is ready for it. If it even comes at all.
Best strategy is to make sure you have cash ready when or if it does come. Don’t try to time the selling because you won’t make a dime unless you get intense selling over a long period of time (bear market).
[+9] u/atdharris: Gotta love the market rallying on a certain rate hike this month. I can't wait for Trump's reaction when it happens.
[+9] u/SvV_Ying: Inflation inflates stock prices, remember that.
[+9] u/Serraph105: It's been a shit week, and shit month. Even the days I'm up, I'm still down by a decent amount.
[+8] u/JabCrossE4E5Quark: Imagine buying (or holding) SPCX at a 2 trillion valuation today.
LMAO
[+8] u/VoidMageZero: Why are things up when inflation was up and the Fed is probably going to hike?
[+8] u/FistEnergy: The indexes being green today when the ME oil supply was reduced on multiple new fronts last night, is very funny stuff.
[+6] u/selesnyaTroll: Good ol energy stocks. Sure as fuck weren't up yesterday when oil was up ~8%, but they sure as fuck are down today with oil down ~3%. Truly the most hated sector.
[+6] u/jrex035: Finally pulled the trigger on BWET yesterday and bought at $630. It's currently at $723.
Its up almost $100 in about 24 hours. Prior to 2025 this etf spent its entire existence bouncing around $15 to $20 altogether.
Just absolutely insane.
[+5] u/Amerinuck: everyone saying there's going to be a hike. Didn't dipshit hire this guy to do his bidding? I'm a goon so idk just seems fishy to me.
[+5] u/NotGucci: Cpi priced in.
Today moon.
Put/call ratios are 3-4:1 for SPY through 9/18, with many positioned for a drawdown. Crowded bearish positioning makes an immediate 5-10% drawdown less likely; market may run sideways. Stay neutral/cash; don't time selling; wait for a real drawdown. Other comments warn one Trump tweet can cause -3% SPY; market-economic disconnect could trigger sudden selloff.
Commenter mocks buying or holding SPCX at a $2 trillion valuation today. Community sees $2T valuation as absurd and unsupported. Avoid or short SPCX at this valuation. Only one upvoted comment; no detailed fundamentals; momentum can keep overvalued assets elevated.
User bought BWET at $630 yesterday, now $723, up almost $100 in 24 hours; prior to 2025 ETF traded $15-$20. Saudi East-West pipeline damage takes several million bpd offline and raises risk of repeated attacks, which can spike oil tanker/shipping rates. Long BWET as a short-term momentum play on oil supply disruption and tanker-rate spike. Parabolic price move; prior range suggests extreme volatility; pipeline restart or de-escalation could reverse gains.
