[+18] u/RipperX4: I hate to state the obvious but if you see the same dozen or so people in here posting EVERY single day, ALL day ask yourself if they would really be doing that if they were successful and knew what they were doing.
This sub is 1 step above getting financial advice from your taxi driver. To anyone that comes in here casually looking for info/advice be careful.
[+14] u/elrond_lariel: Am I crazy or every single post in this sub looks written by AI for like months now
[+14] u/joe4942: Kind of hilarious that Apple is back to being the largest company, by avoiding spending big on AI capex.
[+13] u/FoodCooker62: Shock and horror as SPY is 2.5% below all time high
[+13] u/bingo1105: I've never worked so hard to see my portfolio trade sideways.
[+10] u/joe4942: Big reversal from the open.
[+10] u/Minimum_Thought_5361: Liquidated my semi and chip portfolio as my profits were being eroded by the day
Moved them to the safe haven of sealed pokemon product
[+10] u/vsMyself: Enph entered the 'ai' space just in time for all the downside. Been down for a month straight on basically half the average volume
[+9] u/InvisibleEar: At least spacex is down
[+9] u/urfaselol: semis are getting wrecked today
[+9] u/jrex035: It's great that global energy markets, quite literally the lifeblood of the global economy, trade like a shitcoin just like everything else these days
[+8] u/captainstrange94: Why are semi and memories collapsing wow. might buy more now
[+8] u/AwkwardJuggernaut854: SaaS is like a hedge against Semis right now

According to the report, a Shanghai-based, state-backed company has successfully started mass-producing homegrown immersion DUV (deep ultraviolet) lithography machines for the first time. The publication noted that this company assembled DUV development teams from other Chinese firms, including state-backed startup Shanghai Yuliangsheng Technology, to achieve the milestone.
This marks a critical leap in Beijing's push to build a localized chip supply chain and bypass Western technology.
[+5] u/jrex035: Oil has now given up the entire last week's worth of gains and is down 7% today.
This is despite the fact that multiple Saudi facilities were damaged in the last 72 hours, including a strike *today* on Abqaiq, their most important oil production facility, transits through the Bab el Mandeb declining about 40% since July 19, and transits through the Strait remaining at pre-MOU lows for weeks.
Who cares that the world is losing more than 10m bpd of production with no end in sight or that this ceasefire does absolutely nothing to address the underlying conflict or end the production shut ins, we dont have shortages *today* therefore there's no problem apparently.
Just breathtaking levels of complacency. In 2022 WTI hit $120 a barrel on *fears* that the world would lose 2-3m bpd of Russian oil production temporarily, which never happened. Today weve got more than 10m bpd of production offline *right now* and at least 8m bpd lost for almost 5 months, and WTI is at $83 after peaking at $105. Its even worse if you adjust for 4 years of inflation, $120 in 2022 would be $135 today.
[+5] u/SvV_Ying: Signum Global Advisors, a geopolitical-risk consultancy, tried last week to predict the next TACO looking back at all the other TACO's.
They thought the TACO would be between 22-30 July, and according to their analysis probably on the 26th. They almost exactly predicted this weekend TACO to the day. While a lot of people thought this weekend would be a big escalation.
So pay attention to the Trump TACO formula!

Thinking about buying calls
