Fine. Maybe he’s right and the doomer stuff is oversold.
But “what if they do” is still the only question that matters.
If AI actually replaces a large share of white-collar *and* some blue-collar work over the next 5–10 years, what’s the plan?
UBI / dividend checks forever?
Retrain 50 million people into… what, exactly?
Shorter work week and we all just live with it?
New industries we can’t even name yet?
Or just “the market will figure it out” and hope that’s true?
Serious question, not a gotcha: if your job got cut in half by software in the next few years, what would you actually do? Skills, savings, location, side income.
What’s the real fallback?
