Investing is becoming so common the value is eroding?
Please don’t roast me or be mean. I’m a young & new investor trying to wrap my head around something.
If everyone invests (or at least a large majority), doesn’t that negate the value of investing (or at least negate the advantage of it).
Because those who invest aren’t really getting ahead because everyone is doing it. And the wealth they have accumulated is diluted because so many other people have built that same amount of wealth and the value of the dollar is lost because multiple millions of people invested consistently for decades and became multi-millionaires. And their children all inherit close to a million each.
What happens when half the population all inherit 1 million, 500K etc because every millennial and Gen Z has been trained to invest as early as possible and never stop.
I don’t know, am I missing something?
TDLR: investing is becoming so common, the advantage it once gave is eroding and soon reaching 5 million invested will be less impactful because 50% of the population also invested $300 a month since 18 (gradually increasing) until 60.
The main thing is that their children and grandchildren will inherit this money and suddenly there will be a great wealth transfer where like half the population just inherited 1 million each.
