I then wanted to recommend shotgun retailers like Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops, but they're both privately owned.~~ I prefer the Beretta A300 Ultima because it is semi automatic. Because you don't want to be racking a pump action shotgun between shots while a drone is dive bombing you at 80mph. The Ukrainian Ground Forces issues Benelli M4 semi automatic shotguns for drone defense that work pretty well, but the A300 Ultima costs less than half of an M4. Get an M4 if you have the profits to.
It doesn't matter if your accuracy is shit, buy and practice with birdshot shells that will blast out a huge spread of small pellets that will tear the drone to shreds. As long as you fire in the drone's direction at 20-30 yards out, the drone is fucked. Don't buy and practice with buckshot, the spread is wide enough for a drone to not get hit.
If you're lazy and won't clean or maintain it, then don't get the A300 Ultima. Because it's been known to misfire, jam and fail to eject spent shells if you keep it nasty. Since it's gas powered. So keep it simple and just get a Remington 870 pump action shotgun. $500 bucks used. The most commonly used home defense weapon in the US. Almost impossible to fuck up. You better learn how to manually rack the shotgun quick, though.
